Along with a great start to the regular season, the Lady Townies’ Basketball Team have had another reason to celebrate. On Tuesday, January 8th, the Lady Townies traveled to Mt. Hope for a division matchup and not only took a victory, but also earned Coach Solitro’s his 100th win as the girls’ basketball coach.
“Our team is overjoyed for our coach to achieve such a milestone in his career.” said Mary Monagle, co-captain of the Townies squad. “He works so hard and is so determined to make us successful, so it’s great to see his hard work be rewarded.”
Looking ahead, the Lady Townies’ are hoping to continue their success in Division II in their upcoming games versus Coventry and Rogers. After a quick exit from the play-offs last year, the team hopes to capitalize on the experience of eight seniors and make their way further in the play-offs to contend for a championship.
